What made you choose BlackHeels Photography for your boudoir experience?
I’ve followed the VIP for 4 years and the photographs are just stunning. I didn’t want to trust them with any other photographer.
What Inspired you to book your session?
My 40th birthday. I had planned on booking for one reason or another and always came up with an excuse. Instead of throwing a party for everyone else, I decided to do something for me and get back in front of the camera like pre-mom me.
Was there anything you were nervous about going into the session? Yes! Quarantine weight and the outfits. Stores were shut down so having to purchase lingerie without knowing how it would fit or what my size would be was daunting at first.
How was the planning process? Once I got recommendations from Feather on what sites to use for lingerie, that helped. Having the timeline provided also helped in scheduling hair, nails, stop tanning etc.
How did you feel during your session?
It was SO FUN! All the nerves went away. I was super excited, like not able to sleep excited, for days before hand. It was hard to sit still that morning .
What was you favorite part of the session? The ending shots. Momentum had built up, I was more playful and expressive.
Did you like your images? I loved my images. The hardest part was selecting pictures for the album.
Did the experience help give you are more positive perception of yourself? Absolutely, it gave me back some of my pre-motherhood swagger and took me back in time. The difference being that age brings wisdom about your angles and posing. I wish 40 year old me could talk to 20 year old me.
Do you have any advice for women/couples interested in booking a boudoir session. Just book it ! If there’s a specific issue that you’re concerned about, talk to Feather and she’ll know how to shoot around it.
Based on your experience, would you do it again in the future? Absolutely!!! (and she has for a special Halloween shoot I set up and we are planning some future sessions too)
